Uzbekistan and South Korea to expand cooperation in AI sector
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea discuss projects in robotics, education, and e-government

Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, and Won Doo Yong, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, agreed to expand cooperation in four key areas: artificial intelligence, robotics, digital education, and e-government. The meeting took place on 14 October in Tashkent.
The parties discussed initiatives proposed at the September summit "Central Asia – Republic of Korea," which was attended by the leaders of both countries. Particular attention was given to the implementation of AI technologies in Uzbekistan, the development of scientific research, and the involvement of South Korean universities in joint projects.
Negotiations on cooperation with Seoul National University have already begun. In the field of robotics, the introduction of AI-based solutions into industrial production is planned.
Another area of focus is the development of digital skills among the population, particularly youth. The parties are considering the possibility of integrating South Korean online courses into the "Five Million Leaders of Artificial Intelligence" project.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue working with specialized organizations to implement the discussed initiatives. Cooperation will focus on new projects in digital technologies, science, and education.
