Apple releases smart display HomeView for $299
The new device controls smart home systems, displays camera video feeds, and works with the Siri AI voice assistant

Developers have announced HomeView—a compact smart home display with a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen and integrated audio system. The device is designed to control smart home ecosystems, handle video calls, play media content, and stream audio. In the U.S. market, the device is priced at $299, with official sales set to begin on November 13.
The product is available in two versions: a desktop model (in four color options) and a wall-mountable version (in two color schemes). The user interface dynamically adjusts based on distance: when a person is far away, key parameters are displayed, while detailed information appears upon closer approach.
HomeView can recognize up to six family members, creating an individualized home screen with a personalized set of widgets for each. However, confidential information from messages and personal calendars remains hidden from other users. The built-in Siri AI voice assistant, powered by Apple Intelligence, can engage in coherent conversations and understand contextual dialogue, though this feature is currently available exclusively in English.
