Elgato Releases Wireless Microphone for Mobile Bloggers
The new Wave Go weighs 7 grams, operates for 8 hours without recharging, and costs $99.99

Elgato has introduced the wireless microphone Wave Go, designed for filming on smartphones and tablets. The device attaches to clothing using a magnetic clip and works in tandem with a USB-C receiver.
The microphone is equipped with a 6-millimeter condenser capsule featuring an omnidirectional polar pattern. The manufacturer promises "studio-quality" sound, automatic gain control, and noise suppression. The battery life is up to 8 hours, and a 10-minute quick charge provides an additional hour of recording.
The package includes a Smart Handle—a grip that transforms the Wave Go into a full-sized interview microphone. It also functions as a charger: one charging cycle provides enough power for six full charges of the microphone, extending the total battery life to 48 hours. The wireless connection operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz with a latency of no more than 24 ms.
Wave Go is compatible with iPhone, Android, and iPad, as well as desktop PCs via the Wave Link 3.0 software. A mobile app is available for sound monitoring and parameter adjustments. The standard package includes a case for storage and transportation.
The microphone is priced at $99.99. An additional transmitter for recording a second voice costs $29.99.
