Experts Test Laptops with New Nvidia RTX Spark Chip

The RTX Spark chip is available on the market in two configurations, differing in the number of processor and graphics cores. However, both versions have the same memory bandwidth, and experts tested laptops with varying hardware setups.

When processing the Qwen 3.8 27B model, the processor confidently outperformed the M5 Max, while the Ryzen AI Halo was more than twice as slow. In specialized AI tests, the chip delivered results comparable to those of discrete mobile graphics cards like the RTX 5060 and RTX 4070.

In gaming, some titles lack native support due to the specifics of the Arm architecture. As a result, the performance of the RTX Spark varies from game to game: it sometimes slightly lags behind Ryzen AI Max solutions with integrated Radeon 8060S or 8065S graphics, while in other cases, it pulls ahead. Overall, the graphics performance matches that of the mobile RTX 4060, though such computers are not designed with gaming as the primary focus.
