Google Releases Slim Fitness Tracker Fitbit Edge with Replaceable Battery
The new device will go on sale on October 27 for a starting price of $179.99 and will gain access to the Google Health Coach AI assistant

Google has introduced a new fitness tracker, Fitbit Edge—a device with a minimalist OLED display and enhanced health monitoring features. Unlike the Pixel Watch, this model is not overloaded with functions but surpasses the Fitbit Air in capabilities.
Fitbit Edge supports over 50 workout modes and offers real-time visual cues to help adjust exercise intensity. The accuracy of the built-in GPS has improved by 40% compared to previous models. The device integrates with Google Health Coach, powered by Gemini, though this requires a Google Health Premium subscription. The AI analyzes health data and creates personalized workout plans that adapt to the user's schedule.
The tracker is equipped with the Health Guardian system, which monitors critical changes in metrics such as blood pressure or insulin resistance. The built-in ECG and continuous heart rate monitoring will alert users to sudden spikes in pulse. The accuracy of sleep phase detection has increased by 15%, improving the analysis of sleep quality.
The 65 mAh battery charges in 90 minutes and provides a week of operation. Five minutes of charging is enough for a full day of use. The device is protected to the IP68 standard and supports battery replacement, extending its lifespan. Fitbit Edge is available in four colors: Obsidian, Fog, Olive, and Canyon, as well as a special Stephen Curry Edition with a basketball theme and a water-resistant strap for $219.99.
Pre-orders for Fitbit Edge are already open in the Google Store. Buyers will receive a three-month free subscription to Google Health Premium with the device. Additional accessories, such as Active Sport or Performance Loop straps, as well as metal options like Metal Links and Magnet, can be purchased separately.
