GTA 6 to Release on PC in the First Quarter of 2027
Developers plan to release the computer version of the game several months after its console launch

Rockstar Games will release Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026. The PC version will launch in the first quarter of 2027, according to four sources in the gaming industry familiar with the studio's plans.
For the previous installment, GTA V, the gap between the console and PC releases was nearly a year and a half: the game launched on consoles in September 2013 and on PC in April 2015. This time, the studio aims to shorten the timeline to expand its audience and monetize the project more quickly, as its budget has exceeded $2 billion.
Leadership at Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, previously emphasized the importance of leveraging the pre-release hype around GTA VI. Corporation head Strauss Zelnick noted this during the GamesBeat event in New York last month.
The PC version is critically important for the development of multiplayer content. In August 2023, Rockstar acquired the studio Cfx.re, creators of the popular mod FiveM for GTA V, which allows users to run their own role-playing servers. All role-playing gameplay in GTA V takes place on PC, and similar tools are planned for the sixth installment.
The online mode for GTA VI may launch as early as 2027. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg in an interview that the multiplayer version would release "next year." However, Rockstar has not yet confirmed this information.
The studio has already delayed the release of GTA VI twice: first from 2025, then to November 2026. Take-Two Interactive confirmed that the game is in the final stages of polishing and debugging.
