Huang Threatened to Cut Off Nvidia Chip Supplies to Developers of Dangerous AI
Nvidia will allocate $250 million to AI safety research, providing scientists with access to computing power

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told Bloomberg in an interview that the company could stop supplying chips to a client developing unsafe AI models. He emphasized that such a decision would require negotiations beforehand.
According to Huang, Nvidia does not control its clients' businesses, and its technologies are general-purpose. Therefore, the manufacturer's ability to assess how other companies use its developments is limited.
Huang believes that current concerns are related to the "growing pains" of a rapidly developing industry and are partly exaggerated. He also stated that AI can be used to monitor and mitigate the risks of the technology itself, so the development of such tools should be accelerated.
