Bill Gates Warns of AI Cyber Threats by 2027
The co-founder of Microsoft stated that artificial intelligence will become a tool for large-scale attacks on financial systems and infrastructure, reports CNN.
Bill Gates believes that as early as 2027, AI will be used for cyberattacks, extortion, and disruptions in the operation of financial systems. In his assessment, existing protective measures will not cope with the new challenges.
In an interview with CNN, he noted that criminals who gain access to advanced AI models without reliable restrictions will be able to create 'unpleasant surprises.' Among the risks are ransomware attacks and manipulations in stock markets.
Developers are implementing protective mechanisms against cybercrime and bioterrorism, but these restrictions can be bypassed. Gates emphasized that the immediate threat is not AI acting independently out of control, but its use by malicious actors. More serious technological risks may emerge later.
