Steam Breaks Record: 43.5 Million Users Online Simultaneously
The new peak surpassed the March figure by 800,000, reports SteamDB
On 11 October 2026, Valve's platform recorded 43,501,449 simultaneous users. According to SteamDB, the actual number may have reached 43,505,724.
The previous record was set on 29 March 2026, when 42,686,616 people were online on Steam simultaneously. In recent years, the platform has shown growth: in 2015, the peak online count was 10 million, in 2020 it was 20 million, and in 2023 it was 30 million.
On the same day, Steam also updated the record for the number of players simultaneously in games: 14,464,385 people. The most popular games were Counter-Strike 2 (1.404 million players), Dota 2 (1 million), and PUBG: Battlegrounds (710,000).
The record occurred during a period between major events: the autumn sale had already ended, and the October festivals 'Next Fest' and 'Steam Scream 5' had not yet begun.
