SpaceX Developing Next-Generation Starlink Mobile Without Dead Zones

New frequencies approved for the company to connect with smartphones

The authorizations will allow these frequencies to be used for satellite communications without constructing conventional cellular towers.

The regulator's decision came two weeks after SpaceX announced an agreement to purchase nationwide low-frequency 800 MHz spectrum. The company also revealed plans to integrate the orbital constellation with terrestrial infrastructure.

SpaceX describes Starlink Mobile as the first operator to simultaneously utilize satellite and terrestrial spectrum for connectivity indoors, outdoors, and in areas lacking cellular coverage.
