Developers are hiding new games out of fear of AI clones
Digital Sun canceled the open beta for ReVamp: invitations to the game will be distributed via Discord

Digital Sun deemed it dangerous to showcase a working version long before release. The game could be analyzed, copied, and released under a different name before the original. ReVamp is a vampire roguelite strategy game for PC.
Last week, Japanese studio Alliance Arts also refused to release *Drunken Goddess Reflux*—an anime-style Russian roulette simulator—for Steam’s October festival, *Next Fest*. The company fears that AI will enable the rapid recreation of its graphics and gameplay.
Lucas Pope, Jonathan Blow, and other developers prefer not to disclose details of their upcoming projects. Mikolaj Kamiński, creator of *McPixel*, called the situation for indie developers insane: publicity can boost sales but simultaneously makes copying easier.
