You Are Empty Returns to Steam with Improvements
The re-release of the shooter has received support for modern systems and 90% positive reviews

You Are Empty: Absolute Edition, an updated version of the shooter set in an alternate Soviet Union disaster, has been released on Steam. The release took place on October 27, marking the 20th anniversary of the original game.
The action unfolds in Kyiv in the 1950s. Most of the city's residents have mysteriously disappeared, and the streets are filled with monsters. The player must uncover the causes of these events while exploring the deserted city.
The main changes in the re-release pertain to the technical aspects. The developers claim to have fixed graphical errors and crashes, accelerated loading times, and added support for modern resolutions. The interface, weapons, and cutscenes have been adapted for widescreen displays without image stretching.
New features include achievements, gamepad support, adjustable field of view, and a frame rate limiter. Russian interface and voice acting are also available.
A sprint function has been added in response to complaints about slow movement in the original game. However, the developers warn that the game was not initially designed for running, so enabling sprint may alter the pacing in certain areas.
At the time of verification, Steam showed 90% positive ratings based on 166 reviews. According to 3DNews, early buyers praise the atmosphere and nostalgia, though some report lingering technical issues. The rating is currently based on a small sample and may change.
