Anduril founder Palmer Luckey aims to bring computer production back to the U.S., including all components, even those currently manufactured only in China. The first model will be a rugged laptop designed for the military, government agencies, emergency services, and law enforcement. Due to its resistance to rain, dust, and other harsh conditions, it will be heavier and have limited battery life.

BlueChip will feature a Snapdragon X Series processor, which will be produced at TSMC’s new facility in Arizona. According to Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, the chip uses the same architecture as other laptops, including Microsoft Surface.

Anduril is focusing on a transparent supply chain that customers can monitor and verify. The company will also adapt the device for Windows applications, select Linux distributions, and legacy software used by government agencies. The price has not yet been announced, but Luckey expects the laptop to cost approximately 20% more than standard high-end models.
