Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines, said he reconsidered his attitude toward artificial intelligence after creating his own tool for sports betting. In the Cheeky Pint podcast, he explained why developing programs with AI proved more useful to him than the standard functions of office assistants.

Kirby expressed skepticism about document summarization and compiling daily work reports. According to him, he can manage his own calendar without neural networks. However, he was far more impressed by vibecoding—creating programs through text prompts to AI.

To begin, the executive hired a tutor and completed three one-hour lessons. Afterward, he independently built a webpage for his long-standing hobby—sports betting.

Kirby shared that he worked on the project on his iPad between sets during a two-and-a-half-hour gym session. He entered prompts, gradually assembling a page with several dropdown menus for selecting the type of sport, date, and bet.

According to his description, the tool connects to four bookmaker services, compares odds, and identifies the most profitable option. After entering an amount, it can also place a bet on behalf of the user.

The ability to independently assemble such a program after a short training session became a turning point for Kirby. He said that on the same day, he contacted his team and announced his intention to use this technology more actively.

However, in the interview, Kirby did not specify which neural network or development environment he chose. The article also does not provide data on the accuracy of odds comparison, the reliability of the program, or the financial results of its use.
