Apple has responded to complaints from iPhone Duo owners whose internal screens crack along the fold line. As reported by 3DNews, the company confirmed the issue, stating that it affects a small number of smartphones. The exact number of defective devices has not been disclosed.

The first reports emerged shortly after sales began. Users describe damage along the central part of the display, near the hinge. According to Apple, the defect typically appears quickly, while most devices function properly.

Owners experiencing this issue are advised to contact AppleCare support directly. A paid AppleCare+ plan is not required. If the smartphone was purchased through a mobile carrier, the replacement should also be arranged via AppleCare.

The company has not yet explained the cause of the malfunction. Earlier, iFixit specialists, after disassembling the device, suggested that certain hinge components may exert excessive pressure on the screen. However, this remains a hypothesis, and there is no official confirmation.

The publication also notes that some posts about damaged displays include images generated by neural networks. Therefore, the number of reports on social media alone does not allow for an accurate assessment of the problem's real scale.
