SpaceX Tests All Six Engines of Starship S42
The spacecraft is being prepared for the fifteenth test flight

SpaceX conducted a static fire test of Starship S42 with the simultaneous ignition of all six Raptor engines. The test took place at the Massey’s site in Texas and marked another stage in preparing the spacecraft for the Flight 15 mission.
Prior to this, S42 underwent a separate static fire test with a single engine ignition. During such tests, the vehicle remains secured to a ground stand: engineers verify the operation of the engines and associated systems without launching the rocket.
The Super Heavy B22 booster is also being prepared for the upcoming mission. It underwent its own static fire test on October 25, igniting all 33 engines. Thus, ground-based engine tests have been completed for both stages of the future stack.
However, the static fire test itself does not mean that Starship is fully ready for flight. The obtained data must be analyzed, and further preparation and assembly operations are required before launch.
The exact date of Flight 15 has not yet been announced. Therefore, reports of an imminent launch should be viewed as preliminary expectations rather than a confirmed schedule.
