Buying a graphics card is becoming more expensive: over the past 3 months, prices in the markets studied have risen by approximately 35%. 3DNews reports this, citing the channel’s October analysis.

The study covers 10 countries, including the US, Germany, the UK, Canada, Australia and Poland. The authors compared the lowest prices for each model’s versions available for sale. Thus, the figures refer to the cost of the cheapest option that can be purchased, rather than the average price of all graphics cards in stores.

In August, the increase was about 15%, and in September, it was another 7%. In October, prices increased by an average of 10%, excluding the GeForce RTX 5090. Including Nvidia’s flagship, the monthly figure reached 11%.

In Germany, the price reached €2100, which was 40% higher than the September level. The authors also noted the model’s limited availability in some retail chains.

AMD and Intel also see price increases

The increase also affected other brands. The Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16 GB of memory became 17% more expensive on average, while the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT rose by 12%. The price of the Intel Arc B580 increased by approximately 10%.

According to Hardware Unboxed’s estimate, excluding the RTX 5090, the prices of the models studied are on average 44% above their recommended prices at launch. For comparison, the authors took exchange rates and local taxes into account.

In October, the price increases were no longer limited to Nvidia’s flagship models: they affected most of the tracked models from all 3 manufacturers. The analysis’s authors do not yet see signs of prices returning to their recommended levels soon.
