Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold delayed until February
Final Fantasy XIV producer Naoki Yoshida announced a three-week delay for the release of the Evercold expansion to improve its quality. Early access will begin on February 19, with the full release scheduled for February 23.

Pre-orders for the expansion will open on November 4. Yoshida noted that key features are progressing as planned, but the team required additional time to fulfill the promised commitments.
Evercold will introduce a less linear system for completing story quests, automatic adjustment of enemy levels and mission difficulty, as well as a weekly progress system instead of a daily one. The expansion will feature a new combat style, Evolved, which developers are still fine-tuning for other classes and role-based actions.
Players with an active subscription who have pre-ordered the expansion and registered the bonus code before its start will be able to begin playing in early access.
