Jackery Unveils Compact 96 Wh Battery with Laptop Charging up to 140 W
The Explorer 100D features three USB ports and a lithium iron phosphate battery. The manufacturer promises retention of at least 80% capacity after 3,000 charge cycles

Jackery has introduced the Explorer 100D—a compact external battery that the company classifies as a portable power station. The device is designed to power laptops, smartphones, cameras, and other mobile equipment.
Inside, it houses a 96 Wh LiFePO₄ battery, equivalent to 30,000 mAh at the battery’s nominal voltage. The device weighs 850 g. It does not include a standard AC outlet; instead, equipment is connected via USB.
The Explorer 100D is equipped with two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The maximum power output of a single USB-C port reaches 140 W, while the total output power is 158 W. Therefore, it is not possible to draw 140 W from both USB-C ports simultaneously.
The device supports fast-charging protocols PD, PPS, and AVS. A separate mode is provided for low-power devices, including watches and headphones.
According to Jackery, after 3,000 charge and discharge cycles, the battery should retain at least 80% of its original capacity. The company estimates a potential lifespan of eight years, though the actual service life depends on usage conditions.
A built-in display shows charging parameters and battery status. The Explorer 100D itself can be charged via USB-C, as well as from a compatible car or solar power source.
The 96 Wh capacity falls below the common aviation threshold of 100 Wh. Nevertheless, the possibility of transport and in-flight usage conditions must be verified against the specific airline’s regulations.
On the manufacturer’s U.S. website, the Explorer 100D is listed at a price of $119.
