The startup Raven Resonance has introduced Prism 1—smart glasses running on its own operating system, Raven OS, which is based on Linux. The device includes a built-in computer and is designed, among other things, for developers who need access to both software and hardware components.

Inside, there is a quad-core ARM64 processor, up to 4 GB of RAM, and storage starting from 32 GB. Developers can connect via SSH, create custom applications, and work with the camera, microphones, and sensors. The company also provides development tools for Python.

A full-color display is positioned in front of the right eye and shifted toward the peripheral vision. Its diagonal field of view is 30°, and the claimed brightness exceeds 1,500 nits. This design is intended for quick information viewing while keeping the main field of vision unobstructed.

The primary control method is gaze tracking. A dedicated FPGA chip is included for processing the corresponding models. Additionally, the glasses support Bluetooth connections for keyboards, mice, and controllers.

Prism 1 features a 13-megapixel camera, four microphones, two speakers, and Wi-Fi. The camera is equipped with a physical shutter, and when in use, light indicators on the frame illuminate. According to Raven, speech recognition is performed locally, and data transmission to the cloud requires user consent.

Power is managed by Raven Wings modules, which can be replaced without turning off the glasses. The package includes two pairs of battery modules and a charging case. The Wings connection also supports USB, enabling the development of additional modules. Cellular connectivity, GPS, and higher-capacity batteries are marked as future possibilities.

The price of Prism 1 is $1,499. The refundable pre-order payment is $49. The company plans to begin the first shipments in January 2027, but the fourth batch, currently open for regular buyers, is expected in the summer.

Initially, delivery will be available in the U.S., with Raven later promising expansion into the European Union. The glasses support built-in lenses with diopters ranging from -4.5 to +4.5.
