EU Chief Invites European Leaders to Informal EU Summit on AI
President of the European Council António Costa has sent an invitation to EU country leaders for an informal meeting in Dublin on 13 November. The focus of the discussion will be AI.
At the meeting, participants will hear from two experts and discuss Europe’s role in the global artificial intelligence sphere, competitiveness, and 'AI sovereignty.' The first speaker will be Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI.
Next, Nobel Prize laureate and professor Geoffrey Hinton will speak on the impact of AI on society, safety, and trust in technology. The agenda will also include child protection, fundamental rights, the functioning of democratic institutions, market concentration, and cybersecurity.
During a working lunch in the format of 27 countries, leaders will exchange views on Europe’s next steps in the field of AI.
