Switch 2 Sales Drop Nearly 40 Percent After Nintendo Raises Prices
Nintendo sold 6.49 million Switch 2 consoles in the first two quarters of the fiscal year—nearly 40 percent fewer than the previous year. The decline followed a price increase due to rising memory costs.

A year earlier, the company sold 10.36 million consoles during the comparable period. Nintendo noted that demand was still supported by the release of new games and other factors related to platform development.
The console’s price increased by $50 at the beginning of May—to $500 in the U.S. The company attributed this to rising memory costs and American tariffs. The report covers a period that began before the price increase.
Despite the decline in hardware sales, Nintendo maintained its forecast for the Switch 2 for the current fiscal year. Net profit growth was driven by strong game sales and the success of the new Super Mario film.
