Nintendo currently has no plans to raise the price of Switch 2 again
The company stated it has sufficient memory stockpiles to meet its annual sales target. A further price increase for the console is not under consideration at this time, despite pressure from component costs.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa stated that the company is not considering any further price changes for the Switch 2. According to him, memory stockpiles are sufficient to support the projected sales of 16.5 million consoles for the fiscal year ending March 2027. This was reported by IGN, citing Reuters.
The statement comes amid a decline in device sales. From July to September, Nintendo sold 2.67 million Switch 2 units—a roughly 41% decrease compared to the same period last year. Quarterly operating profit fell by 16%, to 73.9 billion yen.
For the entire first half of the fiscal year, from April to September, console sales totaled 6.49 million units, down from 10.36 million the previous year. However, net profit for the half-year increased by 11%, as this is a different metric and covers a different period, so there is no contradiction with the quarterly decline in operating profit.
The sales comparison also reflects high initial demand, as the Switch 2 launched in June 2025. The console’s total sales have reached 26.35 million units, and its sales pace since launch continues to outperform the original Switch.
